This weekend, in West Michigan, we got a taste of Spring fever with a 65 degree day! Though we got dumped on with buckets of snow this morning, I know that someday soon the sun will be making more of an appearance and the snow will be gone for good! There is one more thing we could add to our list of things to thaw out... our love life!
Spring is a time of new beginnings, fresh starts and growth. So if you're struggling to date your spouse or just need some fresh new ideas for date night, I've got you covered. Let's look at some fun Springtime date ideas.
Vacation
I like to look at it this way, if kids need a vacation from school, than adults need a vacation from work! Plan a weekend getaway or take the time off and go away for a whole week. Relax, get away from any lingering snow and take a vacation with your love. Make it a kid free rendezvous by hiring a sitter or grandparents for the week, you deserve a break!
Group Date
It might remind you of rules you may have had in high school, but get together with a couple of couples and go on a fun group date! The nostalgia might ignite that spring fever between you and your partner. Go to the movies, out to eat or simply host a dinner and game night at your house.
Garden Date
Go out and buy some seeds to plant together, or do some landscaping around your house. This date can be productive as well as a bonding experience. Making decisions together and putting in the work. You could also take a slightly more romantic spin with this date, by turning it into a tea party date. Spruce up the garden and have a picnic lunch outside.
Stop and Smell the Roses
Go for a springtime walk with your honey. Spring is the best time to smell the fresh air and bits of nature starting to grow. The birds are chirping, the sun is shining and life is blooming, so get out there and enjoy it with the person who makes your heart soar!
Farmers Market
Find your local FM and browse with one another. Pick up some new goodies to try and support your local farmers! This is another semi-productive date idea. You can get some groceries shopped for while learning more about your community, and the products being offered.
Relive your First Date
Sometimes all it takes to reignite a spark is to relive some of your most romantic memories. People change, relationships evolve so don't feel discouraged when it doesn't match your memory exactly! Reminisce on the early days and talk about how much you have grown as a couple. This could also be a great time to talk about the future, what are areas you are both trying to improve in. What kind and constructive criticisms do you have for one another. Hearing our partner is crucial, so be attentive and invest this time in one another.
