Hello!
A lot has happened in the last 4 months. With us in the middle of adoption fundraisers, having a car accident that totaled Chris' car, being busy at church and our ministry while planning a major renovation, getting all 4 wisdom teeth removed... it just made sense to not renew my website here since I have been so busy and life has been a tornado of chaos.
Despite the insanity listed above, Chris and I are doing well. Back in May we were on our way home from Holland when a car side swiped us on the highway. No one was injured, by the grace of God and Chris' swerving skills (it could have been so much worse). It's taken our insurance company over a month to handle the whole situation which was frustrating, but now that we have that all settled we are viewing our outcome in a positive light.
Our payment on this car is now gone, which means we have a good chunk of debt off of our shoulders. Instead of buying a brand new car and racking up more debt we looked at our situation. We have the freedom and flexibility to live with 1 car for a while and if we need to, we can purchase a used car and have a smaller payment on a second car when the occasion arises.
Otherwise most of our energy has been spent planning out fundraisers for our adoption fund. We currently have a a puzzle fundraiser which has raised a good amount of money so far. We purchased a 1000 piece puzzle, whose picture is one we designed so that when it is completed can be framed and kept in our child's nursery. Each piece is $5 and people can and have purchased as many pieces as they want to contribute. We have been writing down the names on the back of each piece purchased and cannot wait to share this with our child someday.
Our church is about to undergo a major renovation to better accommodate our growing congregation. This has meant a lot of planning in preparation for storing our belongings, wall color and flooring options, visions for what we want our children's ministry to look like and setting things in place for when we move to our temporary location next month!
I've also said my goodbyes to babysitting and am looking at growing my house-cleaning business. So it really made no sense to continue my Blog, for awhile at least. But my heart really loves to write and I have so many readers who like following along for Adoption updates as they are either interested in our journey or are themselves journeying to parenthood. Which is why I AM BACK!
I can't promise a post/day or even a post/week, but I do promise to write when inspired, when I learn of a new easy meal, when I have a must-add cleaning hack, and of course when anything new or exciting happens in our lives.
Thanks for always being there, supporting me, reading, sharing and reaching out to tell me how much my story has helped you during yours. Lots of love,
Kaitlyn
