We've all been there, Sunday evening. When the dark Monday cloud looms overhead. It's looking at you, daring to taunt you.
The evidence of a laid back and fun weekend is very apparent; dirty shoes, bags, crafts, project remnants, dirty kitchen etc.
Clean the kitchen. If there's one thing that makes it harder for me to focus entering into a new week it's having a dirty kitchen. The clutter always accumulates there whether you get take out or cook at home. I like to do a full wipe of counters, put away clean dishes, clean dirty dishes and wipe up the sink.
Tidy all living spaces. Books, paperwork, knick-knacks are always strewn about after a busy weekend. I throw little papers away, stack papers, fluff couch cushion, fold throw blankets and run our vacuum over the floors.
Meal prepping. There's nothing worse than spending all your hard-earned money on groceries, all to be too tired from the work day to make your meals and order expensive takeout! Meal prepping has made weeknight dinners a delight to cook up. I like to chop up veggies to store in the fridge and then cooking dinner is an easy dump and go process for us.
Weekly overview/to-do list. Chris and I look at the week ahead, we get our planners and calendars out and literally walk through what the week looks like. I also like to write out my 1-3-5 priority to-do lists for each day that week.
Sunday self-care. Finally I like to rest and lean into something fun before the busy week ahead.
Soaking in the tub, reading a book, playing a game, watching my favorite show. Something that is fun relaxing to put me into a positive mood before going to bed for the night.
